"Finally, brethren...think on these things"...Phil. 4:8
Starting a new year is like turning the page in a book and there starts a new chapter. Somethings will continue from the previous "chapter" but there will also be fresh opportunities and experiences. In keeping with our theme of "Simply-Abundant", I chose the scripture Phil. 4:8 to meditate on as we embark on a newborn year.
It's so easy to let our thoughts become tangled with the twists and turns of life. Stress can wrap around us like a spider's web and soon we can feel ourselves "trapped" waiting to be devoured by our circumstances. But let us start this year with fresh resolve to stay our minds on the 8 ethics the Word encourages us to think on. Sometimes in the midst of the plot turns of life it is easy to lose sight of the simple, altruistic blessings intertwined in the saga of life. But just as that "scarlet thread" of Joshua 2:18, as simple as it was, provided a lifeline for a people who wanted to serve God. There is so much power in the "little things", because our God is in the "details"! So look at this year through the lense of promise from an Almighty God who is embedded in every minute detail of our lives. Today there are true, honest, and just things . I see pure and lovely things and I listen for the good report. Virtue and praise accompany my way! Let 2025 be the year we ...Abide.
